Grose

Francis, an English antiquary; born in Green ford, Middle sex, in 1731. His “ Antiquities of England and Wales” (1773-1787) proved a succe , and in 1789 he set out on an antiquarian tour through Scotland. Grose’s work on the cae of Scotland appeared 1789-1791; that of Ireland in 1791. He died in Dublin, Ireland, May 12, 1791.
