(se'-le-ak). Abdominal. Pertaining to the belly. C. Affection, a chronic intestinal disorder most commonly met with in children between the ages of one and five, characterized by the occurrence of pale, loose stools, not unlike gruel or oatmeal-porridge; they are bulky, not watery, yeasty, frothy, and extremely offensive, and are accompanied by anemia and debility without much emaciation. The exhaustion may be aggravated by intercurrent attacks of watery diarrhea, and death may supervene. It is also called Diarrhoea a/ba or Diarrhcea chy/osa. It is due probably to a temporary suspension of the pancreatic function. C. Artery. Same as C. A vis. See Arteries, Table of. C.
