Naut .: The magnetic bearing of a course is the angle included between a course and a magnetic meridian, drawn through the first extremity of the course. magnetic-compensator, s. Ordnance: A contrivance for neutralizing the suspended at a point, its intersection with the surface of the earth is called a magnetic meridian of the point. The angle included between this meridian and the true meridian through the point is called the variation of the needle.
