Primrose, cowslip; a genus of the Primulacece (Fr., primula cees; Ger., Primnlaceen), or primworts, which are an order of the Primula les. The Pi-imularicp are a family of the Cyathince, agreeing e entially with the Primulacece. The Primuleae are: Of Sprengel, the Primulacece; of Reichenbach, a family of the Crater i florae.; of Endlicher and others, the Primulidce, a tribe (Lindley) of the Primulacece. The Primulineae are a cla of hypoaynous Gamopetalce. The Primulince are an order r ' & MKff ^ ^ (cohort) of the Gamo- \ /'TO petalce.
