(al'de-hid.) (Chem.) A liquid obtained by the removal of two atoms of hydrogen from alcohol, whence its name, alcohol dehydrogenatus. It is a thin, transparent, colorle liquid, of a strong, suffocating odor. It boils at 65.5°, and forms numerous compounds. Form.C4H402. [s. 18]
