Apiary

(ā'pe-a-re.) [From L. apis, a bee.] A place where bees are kept for shelter and propagation. It should be selected with great care; should be sheltered from the wet as well as from the extremes of.heat and cold; should face the south, be defended from high winds, and not be within the sphere of offensive smells, or liable to the attacks of any hostile vermin.
