In the first seven dorsal vertebrae it is represented by the sternum, in the sacral vertebrae by the symphysis pubis, in the occipital vertebra by the manubrium stern i, in the parietal vertebra by the body of the hyoid bone, in the frontal vertebra by the symphysis of the inferior maxilla, and in the nasal vertebra by the praemaxilla.
