(kwin). I. The consort of a king. 2. A name applied to the pectens or mu els (Mytilus edulis) caught for food and bait off the southern coast of England. Q. of the Meadow. Also, Spircea ulmaria, of Europe; the flower, leaf, and root are diuretic and astringent. Also, rarely, Spircea salic i folia. Q.'s-root. See Slillingia.
