WICHITA

a city of Kansas, in Sedg= wick Co., of which it is the county seat. tt is on the At chis on, Topeka and Santa Fe, the Mi ouri Pacific and other railroads, on the Arkansas River. It is the chief trade center of an important agricultural region. The city has grown rapidly and has many fine public buildings. It has an excellent park ‘system comprising over 400 acres. Its school system is of an unusually high order of merit. Wichita is an important qndustrial center and has available a sufficient amount of fuel oil to conduct fis industrial establishments. Flour milling is the largest manufacturing product. There are also manufactures of automobiles, beef and pork products, bridges, elevators, harne , clothing, etc. It has two large packing plants. Its public institutions include Fair mount College and Friends University. Pop. (1920) 72,128.
