religious denomination, seceded from Rome, 1844, led by Czerski and Ronge; subsequently panished from Austria, while they suffered from various restrictions in Saxony, Pru ia, and Baden. About 1859 many united with ‘Free Congregations,’ others having already returned to Rome. G. C. are now found only in Saxony.
