Pertaining to, derived from, or consisting of molecules. m. depre ion. Certain constants in organic chemistry which are used in the estimation of the m. weight of chemical compounds. The m. d. of a given solvent expre es the depre ion of the freezing point of that solvent, when it contains a gram molecule of any chemical compound in ioo gr. of the solvent, m. elevation. A constant in organic chemistry which expre es the elevation of the boiling point of a given solution when it contains i gram. molecule of any compound di olved in ioo gr. of the solvent, m. heat. See under heat. m. solution. A solution of a compound containing in every liter the number of grams which is equal to its molecular weight, m. weight. The relative weight of any chemical, compound in terms of oxygen as a unit, the molecular weight of which has been placed at 32.
