Frederick May, ar American clergyman and author; born in Boston, May 2, 1836. He graduated at Harvard in 1859, and from 1862-74 was a Unitarian minister. His works include “The Reign of the Stoics;’ “Rise of Intellectual Liberty.” Holland, Henry Richard Vas- ‘gall Fox, Lord, an English publicist;.born in 1773. He succeeded to the peerage by the death of his father when le than one year old. In 180€ he was commi ioner for settling disputes with the United States; lorc ‘mud seal in 1806-1807; and chancel. or of the duchy of Lancaster. He made Holland House the resort of wit. talent, and beauty. He died in 1840.
