See Tinctura rhei. Anima rhei. See Infusum RHEI. Elixir proprietatis cum rheo. Fr., elixir depropriete de (ou avec la) rhubarbe. Syn.: elixir proprietatis rhabarbarinum (seu cum rhabarbaro). Any one of various old preparations consisting e entially of tincture of rhubarb and tincture of aloes. [L, 85 (o. 48).] Elixir rhei amarum. See Vinum rhei amarum. Elixir rhei dnlce. See Tinctura rhei vinos a.E entia rhei. See Tinctura rhei. Extractum rhei [U. S. Ph.J (alcohol i cum, seu aquosum). Fr., extrait de rhubarbe [Fr. Cod.]. Ger.. Rhabarberextrakt. Sp., extracto (alcoholico) de ruibarbo [Sp. Ph.]. Extract of rhubarb; made by treating rhubarb root in No. 30 powder with a mixture of alcohol and water in a percolator till the percolate becomes almost tastele , and bringing to a pilular consistence [U. S. Ph.]: or by treating the root in No. 40 powder in a percolator with alcohol and afterward with water, and evaporating to a pilular consistence [Br. Ph.]. The Ger. Ph. orders a dry extract with alcohol, the Sp. Ph. both an alcoholic and an aqueous extract. Other ph's order an extract made with water. [B, 95 (a, 38).] Extractum rhei compos i tum. Ger.. zusammengesetztes Rhcibarberextract. An extract consisting of 10 parts of extract of aloes and 30 (32 [Dan. Ph.], U2. blue; U 3, lull; U4, full; U6, urn; U B, like u (German). [s. 399]
