(hom'boorg,) a town of Pru ia, p. He eNa au, and former cap. of the landgraviate of He eHomburg, 9 m. N.W. of Frankfort. It is a fashionable spa, and prior to 1867 bore a somewhat equivocal reputation on account of the heavy gaming carried on under government license. Pop. 7,366. [s. 459]
