Hash

a. [Fr. hacher. See HACK. To chop into small pieces; to mince and mix; as, to hash a chicken. -n. That which is hashed or chopped; particularly minced meat, or a dish of meat and vegetables chopped into small pieces and mixed; as, mutton hash.- Old matter remixed for use; a second preparation, or rechauffée; as, anecdotal hash.- Anything badly executed, or confusedly applied; as, he has made a hash of the affair.
