Michael Augustine, an American clergyman; born in Newark, N. J., Aug. 18, 1839. He was educated at the Roman Catholic Theological Seminaries of St. Mary’s and Mount St. Mary’s and at the American College in Rome, where he was ordained to the priesthood in 1864. He became Archbishop of New York, 1885. He died in New York city May 5, 1902.
