An island belonging to the Be province of South Holland, Netherlands, situated between the mouth of the Meuse and the Volterra, Daniele da (Daniele Ricciarelli). Born at Volterra, Italy, 1509: died at Rome, Rome, April 4, 1566. An Italian painter and sculptor. His chief work is a "Descent from the Cro " (Rome).
