[Eng. recreative; -ne .] The quality or state of being recreative, refreshing, or diverting. rěc'-rě-měnt, subst. [Latin recrementum, from recerno, pa. par. recretus: re-=back, again, and cerno =to separate.] 1. Ord. Lang.: Dro , spume; superfluous or usele matter separated from that which is useful. "The foulne of the most earthly recrements."-Bp. Hall: Remains , p. 41. 2. Physiol .: A humor which, after having been separated from the blood by an organ of secretion, is absorbed into it again. The saliva is a case in point.
