Condyle

[Gr. kondylos, the knuckle.] ( Anat.) The epiphysis or knuckle portion seen to protrude in some of the long bones. The most prominent of these condyles is that at the inner side of the elbow, on the bone of the arm; a blow on which produces a very benumbing sensation. It is this proce that is so frequently fractured with young children, as, till 10 or 12 years of age, the condyles are seldom completely o ified, being merely attached to the bone by cartilage.
