[STREPSIPTER.] The same as STREPSIPTER (q. v.). strěp-sip-těr-ous, a. [Eng. strepsipter; -ous.] Of or pertaining to the Strepsiptera (q. v.). †strěp-si-rhi-nạ, s . pl . [Prof. streps i- , and Gr. rhis (gen it. rhinos ) = the nose.] Zool .: Owen's name for the Lemuroidea, from their having twisted or curved nostrils at the end of the snout. †strěp-si-rhine, a . [STREP SIR HIN A.] Of, belonging to, or characteristic of the Strep sir hin a (q.v.). strěp-so-don-to-sau-rŭs, s . [Greek strepho fut. strep so = to turn; odous (gen it. odontos ) = a tooth, and sauros =a lizard.] Palæont .: A doubtful genus of Amphibia, found in the Newcastle and the Belgian Lower Coal measures.
