Herodii (CULTI ROST RES, CICONIÆ, HE ROD I ONES, PELARGOMORPHÆ, ARDEIDE; HERONS and STORKS). Family of Gralla tores , of large body, having long, naked legs, a powerful beak without cere, with hard, sharp edges, and sometimes curved at the point. The hind toe rests on the ground, the feet being colligate. Here belongs also the IBIS (q. v.).
