cassinette (kasinet)

[= G. ca inet, Sp. casinate; a sort of dim. of ca imere.] A cloth made of a cotton warp and a woof of very fine wool, or wool and silk, used for waistcoats. Also called kerseynette. E. H. Knight. Ca inian (ka-sin'i-an), a. and n. I. a. Pertaining to a member of the Italian and French family Ca ini, which produced four generations of astronomers, 1625-1845. Also Ca i noid. A kind of feldspar from Delaware county, Pennsylvania, remarkable for containing several per cent. of baryta.
