[Pref. nitro- (2), and Eng. sulphuric.] (See etym. and compound.) nitro sulphuric-acid, s. Chem.: H2SO3 (NO)2. Does not exist in the free state, but known in combination in nitro-sulphate potash=K2SO3 (NO)2, which is formed by the action of dry nitric oxide and sulphurous anhydride on caustic potash.
