Predestination

(pre-des-te-na's hun.) [From L. prædestinatio, a resolving beforehand.] (Theol.) The doctrine of the pre-ordination of mankind by the Almighty to everlasting life or perdition. One who believes in this doctrine is called a predestinarian. See CALVIN ISM. [s. 729]
