Turban

(tur'băn.) [From Pers. tur band.] A headdre worn by most Oriental nations. It is of very various forms, but generally consists of a piece of fine cloth or linen wound round a cap, which is red or green, roundish on the top, and quilted with cotton. [s. 912]
