CONSOLIDATE

To consolldate means something more than rearrange or redivide. In a general sense, 1t means to unite into one ma or body, as to consolidate the forces of an army, or various funds. In parliamentary usage, to consolidate two bills is to unite them:Into one. In law, to consolidate benefices is to combine them:Into one. Fair view v. Durland,. 45 Iowa, 56. -Consolidated fund. In England. A fund D for the payment of the public debt.-Consolidatecl" laws or statutes. A collection or compilation into one statute or one code or volume of all the laws of the state in general, or of those relating to a particular subject;· nearly the same as "coml)iled law,," or "compiled statutes."
