HUGH, (ldt'e-mür,) an English divine and carly reformer, B. in Leicestershire,1472, became bishop of Worcester in 1535. After suffering an imprisonment for 8 years in the Tower of London, on account of the pa age of the " act of six articles," he finally perished at the stake, along with Bishop Ridley, 1555, in the reign of Mary.
