kuv'e-nant, n. A mutual agreement writing and under seal; contract; stipulation; writing containing terms of agreement. (Theol.) The promises of God as revealed in the Scriptures, conditioned on certain terms on the part of man, obedience, repentance, faith, etc. (Laic.) A of action for violation of a contract. — v. i. To into a formal agreement, bind one's self by tract, agree, bargain, stipulate. — v. t. To grant promise by covenant.
