grind, v. t. [ground (grownd), grinding.] To reduce to powder, by friction, as in a mill, or with the teeth; to wear down, polish, or sharpen by friction; to prepare for examination; to oppre by severe exactions, hara . — v. i. To perform the operation of grinding; to become pulverized, polished, sharpened by friction; to drudge.— Grind'er, n.
