(1769-1812), came to Canada from England ip 1802 in the British Army. In 1810 he took command of the troops in Upper Canada and prepared the country for defense. In 1812 he received the surrender of General Hull’s army at Detroit with all the stores, arms and cannon. He was killed at the battle of Queens town.
