adj. Kon'oid. From KWVOS, a cone, and etfios, resemblance. Cone-shaped. [L.] CONOPHOLIS [Wallroth] (Lat.), n. f. Kon-o2f'o2l-i2s. Cancer root, squaw-root; a genus of the Orobanchacece. There are but 2 species indigenous to North America, and found in the United States from Canada to Louisiana. The roots are said to be astringent and tonic. [B, 42, 121, 275 (a, 24).] [s. 381]
