Alhagi (alhaji)

[NL., Ar. al - haj (Avi cenna), the camel's-thorn.] A genus of legu mino us plants of several reputed species, but all probably forms of one, ranging from Egypt and Greece to India. A. camelorum is a rigid spiny shrub, the leaves and branches of which exude a species Persia for food and for exportation to India; camels are of manna.
