Milton’s “ Nativity,” do.; also Highland dances for strings, violin, chamber music, etc. McKinley, Carl, b. Yarmouth, Me., Oct. 9, 1895; composer; grad. Knox Cons., Galesburg, Ill.; also of Harvard Univ.; studied with G. Dethier, Rothwell, R. Gold mark, and Nadia Boulanger; his symph. poem, ‘‘The Blue Flower,” won Flagler Prize, 1g21; cond. his ‘‘Masquerade’ at N. Y. Stadium concerts, 1926; won Fellowship, 1927-293; was solo répetiteur at Munich Op.,, later teacher of organ, theory and history of music at N. E. Cons. McPhee’, Colin, b. Canada, r1901; composer, of modern style works, incl. piano concertos with orch. and also. with wind octet; sonatina for two flutes, clar., trumpet and piano; “Sea Chanty” suite for barytone and unison male chorus; symph. in one movement, and “Sarabande’’ orch.; also music for films and songs.
