Antenna

(an-těn'nah.) [L., a sail-yard.] (Zool.) A movable, tubular, and jointed sensiferous organ situated on the head of crustaceans and insects. In the former cla they are commonly four in number. In insects the an tennæ are always two in number, and situated in the space between or before the eyes. They are of various shapes, and are commonly called horns or feelers.
