קלי , Lev. xxiii, 14; 1 Sam. xvii, 17; 2 Sam. xvii, 28; a term applied to those grains or seeds which grow in pods, as beans, peas, vetches, , from פול , a bean . The Vulgate renders this kali in 2 Sam. xvii, 28, frixum cicer , “parched peas.” In Daniel i, 12, 16, the word זרעים , rendered pulse , may signify seeds in general.
