Hamath

P. L. 12. 139. A city of Syria on the River Orontes. It is frequently mentioned in the Bible as the northern boundary of the land of “Solomon held a feast, and all from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.” (1 Kings 8. 65.)
