Lexicon

(leks'e-kon.) [Gr., literally, a saying or stating of words.] (Lit.) A vocabulary, or book containing an alphabetical arrangement of the words ofa language, with an explanation of the meaning or sense of each. The term is chiefly used with reference to dictionaries or word-books of the Greek and Hebrew Languages. [s. 541]
