(k6-lan'), Judas [called Edou- ard], vlt condr. b. Bordeaux, July 24, 1838; d. March 28, 1910. Took prizes in harmony and violin at Pans Cons.; first violin at Opdra, resigned to establish Concert National, later Concerts du CMtelet, famous for production of works of Berlioz and younger French composes; condr. at exhibition of 78, at Grand Opdra 1892, in London 1890. Married Eugdnie Elise Vergin (b. 1854), singer and succe ful teacher.
