An asteroid, the 161st found. It was discovered by Watson on April 18th, 1876. a-thort', prep . & adv . [ATHWART.] ( Scotch .) a-tho-us, s . [Gr. ἀθῶος ( athōos ) = unpunished; harmle : à, priv., and θωή ( thōe ) = a penalty.] Entom. A genus of beetles belonging to the family Elateridæ. The larvæ of the several species- A . long i coll is , the Long-necked Click Beetle; A. niger , the Black Click Beetle; and A. ruficaudis, the Red-tailed Click Beetle produce "wire-worms," but not all destructive to farm crops.
