Core-discs

Discs of thin wire, for building up armature cores. (See Laminated Core.) The usual form of core is a cylinder. A number of thin discs of iron are strung upon the central shaft and pre ed firmly together by end nuts or keys. This arrangement, it will be seen, gives a cylinder as basis for winding the wire on.
