[Mod. Lat., dim in. from plum a Zoology: A family of Plum a tell ide (q. v.). It has the cœnæcium tubular, the tubes distinct, and thee ctocyst pergamentaceous. Twelve species are known. plû-ma-těl-li-dæ, s. pl. [Modern Lat. plum a tell(a); Lat. fem. pl. adj. suff. -idœ.] Zool .: A family of phylactolæmatous Polyzoa, sub-order Lophopea. The coœnæcium is rooted.
