fringe (frinj)

An irregular or filamentous border; a marginal membrane; a fimbria, synovial f 's. Syn.: Umbrae synoviae. Highly vascular f'like proce es projecting from a synovial membrane into the cavity of a joint. They consist of connective ti ue covered with epithelium, and contain some fat cells and sometimes isolated cartilage cells.
