Extended parable; a tale, usually fictitious, wherein the persons and events symbolize spiritual ideas, as Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progre . St. Paul, in Galatians iv. 24, calls Ishmael and Isaac "an allegory" of the two covenants. Allegri, ANTONIO. See CORREGIO.
