Magnetometer

(mag-net-om'e-tur.) [ Same der iv.] (Magnet.) An instrument or apparatus for determining the elements of terrestrial magnetism, as to direction and force. When adapted for determining the declination of the needle, it is called a declinometer; and when for the inclination and vertical force, it becomes an inclinometer. [s. 569]
