Again, the term applies to a stock or a commodity in which the fluctuations in the price are small or narrow. In mercantile dealings a close price is one very near to cost —one that allows of only a minimum profit. The term close price as used on the London Stock Exchange signifies a small difference between the price at which a jobber will buy a stock and the price at which he will sell the same stock; see Jobber.
