a supposed gigantic fo il found in the limestone of the Laus rentian rocks of Canada; and in the Archean rocks of Germany; supposed to be the oldest form of life traceable in the past history of the globe. There is doubt as to their being true fo ils, many geologists now regarding them as of mineral origin.
