A species of gauze made of raw silk woven without cro ing; it is stiffened with gum-water. CRASSULACEiE. (Cra ula, one of the genera.) A natural order of herbaceous or shrubby Exogens, growing in hot, dry, and exposed situations; remarkable for the succulent nature of their stems and leaves. They have an affinity with Penthoru7n and with Illecebracece, through TiUcea; and po e refrigerant abstergent properties, mixed at times with a good deal of acridity. [s. 311]
