(klar-e-fe-kā'shun.) [From L. clarificatio, a making clear.] (Chem.) The proce of clearing or fining any fluid from all heterogeneous matter or feculence. It is often effected by involving the matters producing turbidity in some other, which causes them to be so heavy as to sink down. Coffee is cleared with isingla by this method.
