POLYBIUS

the Greek historian, was bom about 204 B.C. He was summoned to Rome, and formed a close friendship with Scipio Aemilianus, in whose suite he saw the destruction of Carthage in 146. His chief work was his “ History of Rome" (from 220 to 140 B.C.).
