Capsule, the band of white nerve-matter between the optic thalamus and caudate nucleus on the inner, and the lenticular nucleus on the outer side. It is the continuation of the crus cerebri, and consists of an anterior and a posterior limb joined at an angle, termed the knee. It is composed of fibers coming from and going to the cortex cerebri.
